Our sodium metasilicates, hydrated sodium silicates and liquid sodium silicates offer multiple benefits for nearly every type of detergent. From heavy-duty industrial and institutional (I&I) cleaning agents to consumer dishwasher and laundry detergents.
Silmaco offers a complete range of sodium silicate products dedicated for the detergent industry. Our metasilicate anhydrous and -pentahydrate, with their strong alkalinity, are especially suited for I&I cleaning. In addition, our hydrated sodium silicates with their more moderate alkalinity, are phosphate free builders for consumer laundry and automatic dishwasher products. On the other hand, our liquid sodium silicates are available in a variety of ratios and viscosities and are a grateful processing aid in the formulation of spray-dried detergent powders.
Our sodium silicates and sodium metasilicates are very effective in attacking and removing soils and fats. This is due to to their alkalinity and excellent buffering capacity. The alkalinity enables them to neutralize acidic soils, emulsify fats and oils and disperse or dissolve proteins. Their buffering capacity maintains the desired alkalinity in the presence of acidic compounds or when diluted.
Our sodium silicates and metasilicates serve as binders in heavy-duty laundry detergents and in dishwash tablets. In the production of spray-dried detergents, silicate solutions are easily added to the detergent slurry, where they help control the viscosity for producing a powder of the desired density.
Our sodium silicates and metasilicates places a protective film on metallic surfaces (washing equipment, cookware) and ceramics (china) and protect these materials from attack by alkaline cleaners.
Silmaco is a family business with more than 30 years of experience in the production of high-quality and customized silicates. Our flexibility, focus on innovation and quality guarantees your company a carefree service and the most appropriate silicate for your application.
